Centre extends lockdown till 31 may: what is allowed and what is not

India on Sunday recorded the highest single-day spike in Covid-19 infections with 4,987 new cases in the last 24 hours as the national tally crossed the 90,000-mark, according to the Union health ministry.

All shops, except those in containment zones and malls, will be allowed to open from Monday. People can now drive down to other city in different states, depending on both states have allowed.33% staff strength in offices lifted by government in new guidelines. Domestic/international flights and metro rail continue to remain suspended till May 31.

55 new cases reported in Telangana on May 16:

The total number of Covid-19 positive cases in Telangana crossed the 1,500 mark with authorities detecting 55 new cases on Saturday. With the new cases, the overall number of positive cases reached 1509.Of the 55 positive cases on Saturday, 44 persons tested positive from areas under GHMC, two from Sangareddy, one from Rangareddy and the remaining eight positive cases where those of migrants.

In a significant achievement, the South Central Railway (SCR) has developed a robotic device, RAIL-BOT (R-BOT), to assist in hospital management functions towards patient care.The innovation — developed by Hem Singh Banoth, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad, and his team — provides medicines, medical accessories and serves food to patients without any need for physical contact.
