5 Air India pilots, who flew cargo flights to China, test positive for COVID-19:

Five Air India pilots, who had undertaken cargo flights to China, have tested positive for coronavirus during the pre-flight COVID-19 test. Sources in the national carrier told ANI that all five pilots are currently asymptomatic and are based in Mumbai.

PM To Meet Chief Ministers Tomorrow At 3 pm to Discuss Lockdown:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have another video conference with state Chief Ministers tomorrow. The meeting — the fifth since the lockdown started –will be held at 3 pm. Sources said a lot of states have raised objections to the red, green and orange zone marking rules, saying with the way the number of cases isrising in districts with the return of migrants, the red zones will increase.

Air India Flight Brings Back Over 300 Stranded Indians from UK:

A total of 329 people who were stranded in the UK due to travel restrictions arrived here in an Air India flight today morning.Two more evacuation flights – one each from Singapore and Manila (Philippines) – are expected to arrive in Mumbai on Sunday.On Saturday, the Mumbai airport authorities said arriving passengers with symptoms will be moved to isolation centres.Asymptomatic passengers residing in Mumbai will be moved to quarantine facilities like hotels, while those from outside of the city will be transported by the state to their respective district headquarters, it said.

First batch of 88 nurses from India arrive in UAE:
The nurses, who are from Aster DM Healthcare hospitals in the states of Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra, will be put under quarantine for 14 days after which they will be assigned to various field hospitals as per requirement, the Khaleej Times reported.The first batch of 88 nurses from India arrived in the UAE to help the country’s stretched healthcare professionals amid a surge in the number of COVID-19 infections in the Gulf nation that has crossed 17,000, according to media reports.

A lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus has seen 122 million Indians lose their jobs in April alone, new data from a private research agency has shown.India’s unemployment rate is now at a record high of 27.1%, according to the Centre for Monitoring the Indian Economy (CMIE).The new data shows India’s unemployment figures are four times that of the US.

Birthday party triggers for 45 coronavirus cases in LB Nagar:

A birthday party conducted by a businessman at LB Nagar in Hyderabad has led to corona cases. Reports suggested that along with a businessman, his family and friends got infected with COVID-19. All these people have been taking treatment in the hospital.
Among the 45 positive cases, 25 cases pertain to the family members of a businessman, GHMC officials have visited the Vanasthalipuram and the LB Nagar area and monitored the situation. The officials concerned have begun searching for the people who are supposed to be in the primary contacts. Fifteen new containment clusters have been announced in LB Nagar and Vanasthalipuram.

Andhra Pradesh corona tally at 1980, 2 more districts cross 100 mark:

Of the 8,666 samples tested, 50 positive cases were detected in the 24 hours ending 10 a.m., Sunday. Chittoor district reported 16 cases the highest numbers in AP, followed by Kurnool with 13 new cases. Six cases were detected in the Guntur district and five cases each were reported from Anantapur and Nellore districts respectively.

Indian, Chinese soldiers’ face-off in Sikkim:

Four Indian soldiers and half a dozen of Chinese troops were injured during the confrontation on Saturday which took place at Naku La sector, ahead of Muguthang, a pass at a height of more than 5,000 metres, the sources added.In total, 150 soldiers were present when the confrontation took place, which was later resolved at the local level.The sources said that temporary and short duration face offs occur as boundaries are not resolved.
