Private hospitals want govt to reconsider price cap on covid treatment:

As the coronavirus case numbers surge, the Union health ministry has asked private hospitals to pitch in. Private hospitals, which have been losing money during the three months of lockdown, are looking forward to treating patients again, and now say the government needs to take a collaborative approach instead of capping prices for covid treatment.

The Association of Private HealthCare Providers (AHPI), which represents a majority of healthcare providers in the country, submitted a detailed pricing plan for covid patients to the Centre on Monday. This included reimbursements for BPL families, a no-profit-no-loss pricing mechanism, and protocol to prevent cross infection.

Chennai Starts 12-Day “Intense” Lockdown To Tackle Spread Of Coronavirus:

A 12-day “complete” lockdown started today in Chennai and parts of three adjoining districts of Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur and Chengalpattu, with the police using drones for surveillance and intensifying patrols to check violations.The state government announced the lockdown on June 15 amid rise in coronavirus cases.

Telangana reports 499 new cases, three deaths on Friday:

Telangana reported 499 Covid-19 positive cases on Friday, the single-largest one-day surge since the outbreak of the pandemic. The two districts – Hyderabad and Rangareddy also reported largest one-day surge in Covid-19 positive cases. The health authorities have also reported three fatalities, taking the overall toll to 198 in Telangana.

CM KCR announces Rs 6.9 crore to martyred soldiers:

Chief Minister K ChandrashekharRao announced Rs 5 crore to the family of Colonel SantoshBabu in honour of his bravery while fighting the Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. The State government will also provide residential plot and Group-1 job to the Army officer’s wife Santoshi.

The Chief Minister will soon visit the family members of Colonel SantoshBabu and present the cheque on behalf of the State government. The government also announced Rs 10 lakh each to the 19 soldiers who were martyred in the skirmishes with the Chinese troops. The amount will be handed over to the bereaved families through the Union Defence Ministry.
