India crosses 100,000 mark – 67% cases reported in May alone:

The number of reported coronavirus cases in India rose nearly 11 percent over the past two days to 101,139, data from the morning update of the ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) showed. This is in line with the rate of growth in the previous 48 hours, when the reported case count rose to 90,927 on Sunday.

Curfew like situation at Hyderabad’s Old City:

A near curfew like situation prevailed in the containment areas of the older parts of the city, where several new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in recent times.The cases were reported from Jiyaguda, Mangalhat and Madannapet. The hot spots were an apartment and its surroundings in Madannapet, Indiranagar in Jiyaguda and Mangalhat area.
Many cases were reported from the Jiyaguda area in the last one week and teams of the health department and the GHMC are conducting door-to-door survey to identify persons who are showing symptoms of COVID-19.

11 SRA buildings to turn into quarantine centres :

Considering the daily rise in COVID-19 cases in Mumbai, the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) has handed over 11 building to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for setting up quarantine centres, an official said on Tuesday.

At least 11 SRA buildings, with 2080 rooms, will be used as quarantine facilities, the SRA official said. These building are located in both western and eastern wards of the BMC, he added.
