Coronavirus patients not infectious after 11 days, say experts:

Covid-19 patients are no longer infectious after 11 days of getting sick even though some may still test positive, according to a new study by infectious disease experts in Singapore.

A positive test “does not equate to infectiousness or viable virus,” a joint research paper by Singapore’s National Centre for Infectious Diseases and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore said. The virus “could not be isolated or cultured after day 11 of illness.”The paper was based on a study of 73 patents in the city-state.

Travelling by flight, train or bus? Follow these health ministry guidelines:

As flight services resume from tomorrow in a gradual manner, the health ministry today issued guidelines for passengers travelling by flights, trains or inter-state buses. Under the rules, asymptomatic passengers have been permitted to travel after being asked to self-monitor for 14 days. The guidelines come after the Indian Railways last week issued a list of 100 pairs of trains that it will operate from June 1, putting in operation popular trains such as Durontos, SamparkKrantis, Jan Shatabdis and Poorva Express. Also, after a two-month hiatus, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has announced resumption of domestic flights from tomorrow.

Reliance launched a small pilot of JioMart deliveries in select areas of the Indian financial capital Mumbai late last month, days after announcing that Facebook Inc would spend $5.7 billion for 9.99 percent stake in the company’s digital unit, Jio Platforms.JioMart will deliver groceries in more than 200 towns across the country, Damodar Mall, chief executive of grocery retail at the Indian conglomerate, said on Twitter late on Saturday.

“Flights can take off and land from Mumbai tomorrow… There will be 25 flights,” state minister Nawab Malik:

Maharashtra, which has been unwilling to reopen its airports for passenger flights, made a U-turn today, deciding to allow 25 flights to and from Mumbai tomorrow.The Chief Minister’s Office had also tweeted, saying only emergency flights will operate for now. The Chief Minister also said he wants the Mumbai airport to fine tune its operations and come up with a plan.
