Rain Red Alert In Bihar Day After Lightning, Thunderstorms Kill Over 90:

Heavy monsoon rain battered Bihar and water-logging was reported from several parts of Patna, a day after lightning and thunderstorms killed many people in the state. There is red alert for heavy rain in the state today as well. The number of deaths due to lightning and thunderstorms in Bihar climbed to 92, the state Disaster Management Department said today.

International Flights Remain Suspended Till July 15, Says Government:

Commercial international flights to and from India shall stay suspended till July 15, civil aviation watchdog DGCA has announced. The restriction will not apply to international cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the aviation regulator.

Karnataka To Get Giant Statue Of Bengaluru Founder KempeGowda At Airport:

Karnataka will soon have a giant statue of KempeGowda, the ruler who is considered to have founded what is now the city of Bengaluru. The statue will be put up at the international airport in Bengaluru at a cost of Rs 66 crore, the state’s BJP government said on Friday.

At 108 feet, the statue will be as tall as a 10-storey building though much smaller than the Sardar Patel statue of unity in Gujarat and the Shivaji statue in Maharashtra. A replica will be unveiled tomorrow, said the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan, who called the statue a “long-pending demand of the people of Karnataka”.

Kolkata Metro may resume services from 1 July: Mamata

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Friday Kolkata Metro may resume services from 1 July and that due to pandemic passengers will be allowed only up to the seating capacity.

“We are discussing with the Metro authorities about resuming the Metro services from 1st July, allowing passengers only up to the seating capacity,” said Mamata.

Indian Railways: Here’s a full list of special trains that will run now

In the wake of coronavirus outbreak, the Indian Railways has decided to cancel all the regular passenger trains till August 12. The list includes all regular time-tabled passenger train services, mail and express trains and suburban train services. “It has been decided that regular time-tabled passenger services including Mail/Express, passenger and suburban services stand cancelled up to 12.08.2020,” the railway board said in a statement.

Telangana halts swab collection for two days:

The State health authorities have temporarily halted the collection of swabs from suspected Covid-19 patients for the next two days in all government hospitals.

It is to give enough time to the identified 10 government laboratories to complete backlog samples that have accumulated over the last few days. District Hospital in King Koti and Gandhi Hospital, the two major centres in Hyderabad where suspected Covid-19 patients could walk in for diagnostic tests, are not collecting swab samples as of now. The sample collection centres in districts too have halted the process for the next 48 hours.

Telangana emerged as rice-bowl of the country: KTR

IT and Municipal Administration Minister, KT Rama Rao said that Telangana had emerged as a rice-bowl of the country by producing the record level of paddy. The Food Corporation of India has confirmed that it had procured the highest quantity of Paddy from the state. This was made possible only because of the construction of Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project, he said.
