Nationwide lockdown in containment zones extended up to June 30: MHA

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday issued orders extending the lockdown in containment zones till June 30 and to reopen ‘prohibited’ activities in a phased manner in areas outside these containment zones.

The ‘unlocking’ will be in three phases, with Phase I to allow the following activities from June 8: Religious places/places of worship; hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services; and shopping malls.

Air India Delhi-Moscow Flight Returns As Pilot Has COVID, Probe Ordered:

The aviation regulator DGCA will order a probe into a “lapse” after an empty Air Indiaplane flying from Delhi to Moscow returned midway when the pilot was found infected with coronavirus.The state-run carrier’s ground team realised the pilot was a COVID-19 patient only after the Airbus A320NEO had taken off.Sources in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation or DGCA said “prima facie, this appears to be a lapse” as the pilot was not supposed to be on the plane if he was found positive.

Three Indian companies get licence to manufacture NASA’s coronavirus ventilators:

The three Indian companies are Alpha Design Technologies Pvt Ltd, Bharat Forge Ltd and Medha Servo Drives Pvt Ltd, the space organisation said in a statement on Friday.Apart from the Indian firms, 18 other companies, including eight American and three Brazilian, have been selected to manufacture the critical breathing devices.

Covid-19: 169 new cases, four more deaths in Telangana

Telangana on Friday reported 169 new coronavirus cases and four fatalities, taking the total number of cases to 2,425 and deaths to 71. The new cases include 82 from GHMC limits, 14 from Rangareddy and two each from Medak and Sangareddy. Five migrants and 64 deportees from Saudi Arabia were also tested positive.
