INDIAN SPY SATELLITE PASSES OVER TIBET:
According to IANS, India’s premier intelligence-gathering satellite EMISAT, operated by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has taken a good look at the positions of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in occupied Tibet. Another Corps Commander-level meet between India and China is likely in the coming week. The main agenda of this meeting will be disengagement in Pangong in eastern Ladakh, the most contentious flashpoint along the LAC. Though India and China remain engaged in talks over the LAC standoff, there is speculation in Ladakh and Kashmir that Pakistan and China are preparing for a two-front war against India during the coming winter.
48,661 FRESH COVID CASES IN PAST 24 HOURS:
India reported a spike of 48,661 covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the total number of reported cases to13,85,522, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.With 705 deaths in the last 24 hours, the cumulative toll reached 32,063.The total number of active cases are 4,67,882 cases. Maharashtra remained the worst hit state after recording a single-day spike of 9,251 cases taking the state’s tally to 3,66,368 of which 13,389 people have died of the deadly disease. Maharashtra is followed by Tamil Nadu (2,06,737), Delhi (1,29,531), Karnataka (90,942) and Andhra Pradesh (88,671). The national capital recorded a single-day spike of 1,142 cases taking the tally beyond 1.29 lakh cases of which 12,657 were active cases as 3,806 people died and 1,13,068 were cured and discharged.
101 YEAR OLD WOMAN RECOVERS FROM COVID-19 IN TIRUPATI:

TELANGANA STATE UPDATES:
According to the Telangana State Planning Development Society (TSPDS), Hyderabad has received a rainfall of 318.8mm against the normal rainfall of 224.6mm between June 1 and July 23, while Rangareddy registered 285.5mm against a normal of 203.5 and Medchal-Malkajgiri recorded 272.0mm against the normal of 239.6 mm. This apart, the State has received 30 per cent excess rainfall, recording a monthly average rainfall of 396.7 mm against the normal rainfall of 304.4 mm. Mayor Bonthu Rammohan has tested positive for Covid-19 after undergoing a rapid antigen test on Saturday. He is asymptomatic and is presently under self-isolation. Telangana recorded 1593 new Covid-19 infections and eight fatalities on Saturday, which took the overall toll to 463 and the cumulative number of positive cases in the State to 54,059. As many as 998 patients have recovered yesterday which has taken the overall tally of recoveries to 41,332 persons while the number of active Covid-19 positive cases in the State is 12, 264. The mortality rate, which is the number of persons who died for every 100 Covid-19 positive cases is 0.86 per cent in the State while the countrywide mortality rate is 2.3 per cent. Out of the 1593 positive cases, the three districts that recorded maximum cases include areas under GHMC with 641 positive cases, 171 cases from Rangareddy district and 131 positive cases from Warangal Urban.
