Kangana Ranaut requests govt to take back Karan Johar’s Padma Shri:
Actress Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday requested the government to take back the Padma Shri honour that has been conferred on filmmaker Karan Johar. On the actress’s verified account, @KanganaTeam, she re-shared a post related to Johar’s latest production “Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl”. Sharing the tweet, Kangana’s team wrote on twitter: “I request government of India to take KJO’s PadmaShri back, he openly intimidated me and asked me to leave the industry on an international platform, conspired to sabotage Sushanth’s career, he supported Pakistan during Uri battle and now antinational film against our Army.”
More infectious mutation of Coronavirus detected in Malaysia:
A mutation of the deadly Coronavirus that is far more infectious has been detected from two COVID-19 clusters in Malaysia, according to health authorities. “Recent results received from the Laboratory Medical Research Institute (IMR): as suspected D614G type mutation has been spotted from COVID-19 virus isolation test for three cases from Cluster PUI Sivagangga (close contact to index case) and also a case from Cluster Ulu Tiram (i.e. individual from the Philippines),” Noor Hisham Abdullah, health chief said in a Facebook post on Sunday. According to him, it is found to be “10 times easier to infect other individuals and spread easily if spread by the individual ‘super spreader ‘.”
Gold prices today fall for second day in a row, silver edges higher:
Gold prices in India edged lower today, tracking a drop in global rates. On MCX, October gold futures fell 0.04% to ₹52,207 per 10 gram. Silver futures however edged 0.35% higher to ₹67403 per kg. In the previous session, gold futures had tumbled ₹760 or 1.5% per 10 gram. while silver had crashed 5.5% or ₹4,000 per kg. On the MCX, gold has support in the ₹51,400/49,200 zone while on the higher side, resistance at ₹53,250, Geojit Financial Services said in in a note.
